Reporting to:	Corporate Controller
Location:	Utsunomiya, Japan

Major Function:

Oversees, coordinates, administers, and controls financial operations for the plant. Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effect.

Essential Functions:

Manages the financial activities. Provides tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial and budgetary reports. Directs all aspects of accounting operations and the preparation of annual financial forecasts. Oversees the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Additional Job Responsibilties:

• Successful candidates will have management responsibilities for 2 direct reports.
• Provide direction to accounting staff primarily in the areas of inventory, standard costing, variance analysis, payroll and fixed assets.
• Drive the annual budget process.
• Daily interaction with the Corporate Director of Finance - Operations and Plant Management staff to help provide data and direction.
• This position reports to the Corporate Controller.

Education/Experience:

• BS in Finance or Accounting.

Prerequisites for the Job:

1. Minimum twelve (12) plus years experience in manufacturing industry gained through increasingly responsible management positions in finance and accounting, with three (3) plus years in the position of controller or asst. controller.
2. Must be very proficient in English and bilingual in Japanese and English.

Preferences for the Job:

1. Experience as controller with a broad knowledge of complicated manufacturing processes.
2. Past experience and affiliations with successful companies that use SAP.
